How was Bothriolepis created?
1, make a drawing
2, make a base of the body
First, make a rough shaped base of unbleached or white wool. Shape out it firmly. Separate parts that will be included in the body from the beginning and those that will be connected as parts later. In this work, a pair of pectoral fins are put off.
3, add color
It is hard to reconstruct the slender or thin structures with wool, but the most difficult is the color scheme. Because it is an extinct species, its color and pattern are unknown. In other words, any color, any pattern will be permitted (Nature is bold far beyond human imagination).
Here, we adopted a sober or dark green scheme. The adding color will be changed slightly depending on the area, such as the dorsal or ventral surfaces of the armour, the posterior half of the body, the dorsal fin and the caudal fin.

4, edges the shield
Confirming the position of eyes with marking pins, create the edges of each shield plate. There is a way to emphasize the edge of armour plate with black, as in so-called "sumi-ire", in which the outlines are sharpened with black ink, but here, the edge is represented as a 'groove'. Work carefully, just like putting a cut line, using different thick needles properly.
5, connect the other parts (eyes, pectoral fins)
Fix the pectoral fins temporary, then check their size and location.
With regard to the eyes, a base part (yellow) will be created at first. After that, roll up a very small amount of black wool by fingers, and embed it into the yellow base carefully. We could not represent the sharpen tip, the lateral and medial spines of the pectoral fin.
6, almost done!
Almost done! A little more work is required, such as the pattern of the body.
7, done!
Now it's done!
